2011 CBP Budget Hearing before the House Homeland Security Appropriations
Posted On: Apr 05, 2010

NTEU met with the House Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee prior to a hearing that was held to review the proposed FY 2011 budget for Customs and Border Protection (CBP). At the subsequent hearing held on March 24, 2010, Subcommittee Chairman David Price championed the need to increase CBP staffing at the POEs and to fund the promised journeyman pay increase. Chairman Price also pointed out the shortsightedness of CBP’s suspension of the Foreign Language Awards Program and its affect on morale. Please find attached a copy of Chairman Price’s opening statement.

NTEU continues to work with both the House and Senate Appropriators to address these ongoing CBP funding issues.
